# Ionhour > Ionhour is an uptime monitoring and incident management platform. It watches websites, APIs, cron jobs, and background workers 24/7 and alerts your team the moment something breaks, slows down, or stops running. Checks are outbound probes Ionhour runs against your endpoints on a schedule; Jobs are inbound heartbeats your cron jobs and workers ping to prove they ran. When a monitor fails, Ionhour opens an incident, pages the right people through alert routing, escalation policies, and on-call schedules, and keeps your public status page current. Agents manage it through the hosted MCP server at https://mcp.ionhour.com, the official SDKs, or the REST API. The web application lives at https://app.ionhour.com and documentation at https://docs.ionhour.com. Every documentation page is also served as markdown: append `.md` to its URL, or request it with `Accept: text/markdown`. The complete documentation set is at https://docs.ionhour.com/llms-full.txt. ## Agent quick start - [Agent Quick Start](https://docs.ionhour.com/agents/quickstart.md): Read this first. [Welcome to Ionhour](https://docs.ionhour.com/index.md): Official Ionhour documentation — uptime monitoring, cron job heartbeats, incident management, on-call scheduling, alerting, and status pages for engineers. - [Introduction](https://docs.ionhour.com/introduction.md): Go from signup to your first Ionhour alert in a few guided steps — create a workspace, add a check or a heartbeat job, and connect your first alert channel. - [Dashboard](https://docs.ionhour.com/monitoring/dashboard.md): Review your workspace's overall health at a glance — uptime and incident KPIs, incident history, recommended actions, member activity, and open issue status. - [Checks (HTTP & Outbound Monitoring)](https://docs.ionhour.com/monitoring/checks.md): Have Ionhour actively probe your websites, APIs, and endpoints on a schedule from multiple regions — creating HTTP checks, linking dependencies, managing them. - [Jobs (Heartbeat & Cron Monitoring)](https://docs.ionhour.com/monitoring/jobs.md): Monitor cron jobs and background tasks by having them ping Ionhour after every successful run — schedules, grace periods, and alerts when a run goes missing. - [Dependencies](https://docs.ionhour.com/monitoring/dependencies.md): Track the external services your checks rely on so you can spot the real root cause the moment something breaks — categories, health monitors, and impact maps. - [Incidents Overview](https://docs.ionhour.com/incidents/overview.md): How Ionhour opens, tracks, and resolves incidents when a check or job goes down, plus declaring incidents by hand and publishing public status page updates. - [Incident Timeline](https://docs.ionhour.com/incidents/timeline.md): See incidents, deployments, and check status plotted visually across time and grouped by project — pick a range, overlay alerts, and jump into any incident. - [Maintenance Windows](https://docs.ionhour.com/incidents/maintenance-windows.md): Schedule planned work so checks and incidents in the affected projects stay quiet instead of paging your team — list and calendar views, and full management. - [Teams](https://docs.ionhour.com/on-call/teams.md): Group workspace members into named teams so you can assign a whole group to schedules and escalation paths — creating, editing, and managing your team rosters. -
